This file contains typed notes from the scientific debriefing of Gemini 9 (IX-A) astronauts Thomas Stafford and Eugene Cernan on 16 June 1966. Stafford reported a very bright meteor far out, moving left to right and whitish-green. The notes tie particles around the spacecraft to water and urine dumps and record luminous particles that "always show at sunrise" on the blunt end of the spacecraft. Asked about the target vehicle (the ATDA, the augmented target docking adapter), the crew said it was 20 minutes away, about ten Venus diameters, and that they "never saw any flashing lights". Asked by Roach whether they ever saw "sparkles" coming off the ATDA, Stafford answered "No, none". Nothing in the notes is presented as unidentified; the release appears to include the file because it records observations of lights and particles in orbit. *Method note: war.gov blocks this server. The file was read from the original PDF served by the ufotransparency.com mirror. The notes are typed scans with no usable text layer, so quotations were read from the page images. The pages cited are PDF pages; the notes' own numbering is one lower (PDF p. 3 is note p. 2).*

Plausibility weighs how well an account fits where secrecy hides the documents by design, so missing records never count against it. Strength measures what is documented. Assessed 2026-10-23.
