NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory
NASA's only FFRDC, staffed by Caltech employees. It grew out of the 1936 GALCIT rocket group that included occultist Jack Parsons. Reza (materials), Maiwald (THz instruments) and Hicks (asteroids) all worked here, and Grillmair worked at Caltech's IPAC next door. Fox LA counted '4 tied to LA County', which is the basis of the 'JPL is being targeted' theme.

On the record
- Caltech operates JPL and makes its personnel decisions; about 550 layoffs in Oct 2025.
- About 200 to 210 JPL staff lost homes in the Jan 2025 Eaton Fire.
- Parsons died 17 Jun 1952 in an explosion at his Pasadena home lab; the coroner ruled it accidental.
- Macheret's DIRD 33 cites Frisbee's 2002 JPL compendium 'Advanced Space Propulsion Concepts' four or more times.
- NASA, Apr 2026: 'nothing related to NASA indicates a national security threat'.
- Hicks's coroner entry lists arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease, manner natural (as reported).
