Dr. Alexander V. Neimark

Alive and working: a Rutgers porous-materials chemist with real DTRA and Army defense grants, whose reported 2026 death has no record behind it and appears only on Igor's list.

Rutgers porous-materials chemist. Moscow-trained chemical engineer and Rutgers Distinguished Professor who built the standard NLDFT and QSDFT methods for measuring pores. His defense funding is real: DTRA and Army grants on membranes and sorbents against chemical and biological warfare agents. No obituary, memorial or news report of his death exists, and he appears on no published version of the scientists list. A Rutgers psychologist, Edith Neimark, died in Feb 2025.

On the record

  • No death found; active in 2026.
  • List check (Igor's list): entry wrong. No death record found. Still listed as Rutgers faculty and an Adsorption Society director; papers in 2026.
  • As the list had it: "Dr. Alexander V. Neimark, Materials Scientist & Chemical Engineer, Rutgers University / DOD Contractor. Deceased (Early 2026). Specialized in porous nanomaterials, carbon capture, and advanced defense coatings."
  • Cause or status, as sourced: None. No death found. Possible mix-up with Edith Neimark (Rutgers Psychology, d. 25 Feb 2025): proposed, not demonstrated.
  • Distinguished Professor, Chemical and Biochemical Engineering, Rutgers.
  • PI on DTRA grants (CBW-agent membrane permeability, about $750k; multicatalyst membranes, about $1.57M), ARO and DoD DURIP grants.
  • International Adsorption Society lists him as Director, term to 30 Jun 2028.
  • Rutgers In Memoriam (through Sep 2026) has no Alexander Neimark; it lists Edith Neimark, Psychology, d. 25 Feb 2025.
  • He is absent from published scientists lists (Wikipedia, CBS, Geo.tv).
