Mikio Naganobu

Fisheries Agency oceanographer who sailed on the research ship Kaiyo Maru for decades and published Antarctic research from it into the 2010s. In September 1988 he wrote up the ship's 1984 and 1986 encounters in Science (Nikkei Science), concluding that two radars and experienced operators ruled out error.
