What the PURSUE files add
war.gov/ufo turned rumors into file numbers. The military clips are the bulk: infrared tracks from CENTCOM, INDOPACOM and NORTHCOM, several with nothing to name the object. The written reports are sharper. An AFSOC crew logged six small spheres "able to change directions quickly and simultaneously". An ISR crew tracked a white round object at up to 500 mph, and two sorties over Iraq logged 1-2 m objects on the same day.
The old files carry the same pattern. In 1955 a Headquarters USAF committee said it was "unable to explain" a KC-97 crew's sighting matched by ground radar, and judged RB-47 sightings over the Arctic to be "aircraft of unknown nationality". The Apollo debriefings (14 and 17) put the crews' light flashes on the record. The PURSUE file index lists every file by sighting date.
