One UAP on full-motion video off Bushehr, Iran, on a mission with two lost-link events (16 September 2020)

This is a mission report (MISREP 4782130) from the 482nd Attack Squadron. The aircraft took off from OKAS at 2302Z on 15 September 2020. At 1732Z on 16 September, flying at FL180 and 90 knots, the crew observed "a UAP" on full-motion video in grid 39R VM. The report says nothing else about it: the observation block lists only "UAP". The weather was not a factor. The same mission received three guard calls, two of them "DIRECTIVE" in tone. It also lost its data link twice, at 1248Z-1259Z and 1414Z-1441Z, with "UNKNOWN" interference and a "MEDIUM" mission impact. Those events came hours before the UAP sighting, and the report does not link them. A Release 02 video, DOW-UAP-PR085, is titled "16 Sept 2020 ... observes UAP" and is described as FMV from CENTCOM. It may be this event, but the release does not say so. *Method note: war.gov blocks this server. The mission report was read from the original PDF served by the ufotransparency.com mirror. It is a scan with a noisy OCR text layer; quotations were corrected against the page images where the OCR garbles them. Redactions are shown as [redacted].*

Plausibility weighs how well an account fits where secrecy hides the documents by design, so missing records never count against it. Strength measures what is documented. Assessed 2026-10-23.
