Drones over Australia's F-35 base

On three nights in July 2026 unidentified craft flew over RAAF Base Williamtown in New South Wales, home of Australia's F-35 fleet. Defence and the minister confirmed the incursions; nothing was intercepted, personnel were reportedly told to close their blinds, and a police inquiry ended without saying who was responsible. Ross Coulthart's military source says it 'wasn't a bloody drone': it was huge and dead quiet. It came in a year when Australian Defence counted 147 drone breaches at its sites.
