Apollo 11's unknown companion

On the way to the Moon, Buzz Aldrin, Neil Armstrong and Michael Collins saw an illuminated object keeping pace with them. They asked Houston where their spent rocket stage was and were told it was about 6,000 miles away. They chose not to say more on an open line. Aldrin later described the object publicly. In 2026 the Pentagon's own UFO release included Aldrin's accounts and Apollo-era photos, alongside reports of 'green orbs' seen on Apollo 12.
