A 12th Special Operations Squadron ISR aircraft flew from Muwaffaq Salti Air Base, Jordan, for Operation Inherent Resolve. It was orbiting at 20,088 ft and 144 knots over Syria. Between 1559Z and 1644Z on 20 October 2024 its crew saw "multiple glares or light from unknown origin at different angles and directions". Single lights or glares crossed the full-motion video camera at 1559Z, 1602Z and 1644Z, and a halo effect appeared at the top of the feed at 1609Z and 1620Z. The crew described a "misshapen and uneven ball of white light" and logged its physical state as "Plasma". They assessed it as benign and specifically "not to be a lasing event". The weather was clear. war.gov publishes the same PDF six times: three copies as DOW-UAP-D32 and three as PR31, PR32 and PR33. The report itself reads like an optical effect on the camera, but it does not say so. *Method note: war.gov blocks this server. Each mission report was read from the original PDF served by the ufotransparency.com mirror. Quotations come from the PDF text layer and were checked against the page images where the scan is poor. Redactions are shown as [redacted]. Field names such as "Observer Assessment of UAP" are the form's own labels.*

Plausibility weighs how well an account fits where secrecy hides the documents by design, so missing records never count against it. Strength measures what is documented. Assessed 2026-10-23.
