Using muon detectors, which see through stone using particles from cosmic rays, the international ScanPyramids team announced in Nature in November 2017 a huge, previously unknown void, at least 30 meters long, above the Grand Gallery of the Great Pyramid. In March 2023 they confirmed a 9-meter corridor behind the north face and filmed inside it with an endoscope. Nobody knows what the Big Void holds.
