Security guards reported a glowing red object hovering over the gate of Oscar Flight. Moments later, according to launch officer Robert Salas, the nuclear missiles in his capsule began dropping offline one after another. A week earlier, all ten Minuteman missiles at nearby Echo Flight had also gone offline at once. Salas has told this story for decades, including in The Age of Disclosure.
