PURSUE Release 07 (war.gov, 23 October 2026)
The seventh PURSUE release (war.gov, 23 October 2026) holds 28 records. Its centre is the DIA-funded BAASS/AAWSAP contract file of 2008-2010, in which the contractor asked DIA for crash hardware, Blue Book trace evidence and "biological material of potentially non-human origin", built a vault for "exotic material or tissue", ran a Northern Tier study of nuclear-base incursions that stalled on "Need to Know", and quoted DIA's own assessment that the Nimitz object was no known aircraft. It also holds a 2026 FBI and AARO record of a silent black triangle seen by federal agents at a national-security site, fourteen 1949-1957 Air Force reports with trained observers, a 1962-1964 White House file on recovering foreign space fragments "(including whole vehicles)" under a NASA "cover", and the personnel file of Col. Howard McCoy, chief of AMC Intelligence during Projects Sign and Grudge.

Overview
- Two agencies independently recorded a silent, heat-uniform, propulsion-less triangle over a US national-security site in 2026.
- A DIA contractor wrote down crash testimony, sought non-human biological material, built a vault for exotic material and was then blocked by "Need to Know" from nuclear-base and archive work.
- Fourteen early Air Force reports and a 1960s space-fragment recovery file round out the release.
On the record
- DOW-UAP-D155 (5 pp): 18 Jan 1957, a SAC B-52 over Saudi Arabia had an unknown radar return pacing it at a constant 6,000 yd for 5 to 7 minutes on the tail gunner's A-3A radar "where no aircraft were expected". See case/b52-saudi-radar-1957.
- DOW-UAP-D156 (5 pp): 31 Dec 1956, an F-86D alert pilot over Guam was outclimbed and circled by a light he could not close on; the report says it "can not be readily explained" unless a balloon malfunctioned. See case/guam-f86d-1956.
- DOW-UAP-D157 (5 pp): 27 Aug 1952, Sassari, Sardinia, a professor and two other witnesses saw a brilliant sphere cross the sky at "dizzy speed"; interviewed by the Air Attache in Rome. See case/sassari-1952.
- DOW-UAP-D158 (4 pp): 8 Nov 1953, two USAF airmen guarding a B-29 at Prince George, British Columbia, watched a humming light hover at about 150 ft and rise straight up. Assessment: "Cause unknown." See case/prince-george-1953.
- DOW-UAP-D159 (2 pp): August 1953 Tempelhof air traffic control log extracts on red lights and "rockets" in the Berlin air corridor; the Soviets "could not account for" a stationary red light. See case/berlin-corridor-red-lights-1953.
- DOW-UAP-D160 (3 pp): 16 Dec 1953, a TPS-1D radar in Morocco tracked 1 to 12 returns in a line changing shape; site radar maintenance "offered no possible cause". See case/morocco-radar-1953.
- DOW-UAP-D161 (4 pp): 8 Oct 1953, Little Diomede, Alaska: a light on the uninhabited southern tip of Big Diomede (USSR) reported to the 5004th AISS.
- DOW-UAP-D162 (4 pp): 1 Dec 1953, Gambell, St Lawrence Island: a stationary light toward Chukotka that went out "as though someone had turned it off"; "no conclusion can be reached".
- DOW-UAP-D163 (3 pp): 17 Dec 1953, Transair DC-3 crew over Hassleholm, Sweden, saw a "shining metal spherical elliptical object" at about the speed of sound; the Swedish Defence Staff said no Swedish aircraft was there. See case/hassleholm-dc3-1953.
- DOW-UAP-D164 (6 pp): December 1953, Seymour, Indiana: a couple watched two ring-shaped craft with four rotating lights each hover and surge away in formation. See case/seymour-indiana-1953.
- DOW-UAP-D166 (26 pp): five MUFON white papers written for BAASS under contract 081006-1 (lift, power, control, human interface, propulsion), including a note that MUFON holds x-ray copies which "may provide evidence of implants".
- DOW-UAP-D167 (42 pp): Project Capella, a plan for a UAP data warehouse for BAASS ("Report no. 001"), with a six-layer model stating "During the observation, the UAP is a real, physical, material object" and 48 NIDS catalogue entries from 1946 to 1967.
- DOW-UAP-D168 (49 pp): the BAASS Project Management Plan for DIA contract HHM402-08-C-0072. It asks DIA to obtain "high sensitivity" Blue Book files and trace evidence at LANL, states "It is substantiated with testimony that several 'crashes' of novel spacecraft have occurred outside of the United States", plans Project Northern Tier, and attaches the 1947 AMC "Flying Discs" memo, a 2002 Roswell affidavit and a UK MoD file on the 1957 Manston F-86D. See case/manston-f86d-1957 and case/northern-tier-1966-1977.
- DOW-UAP-D169 (42 pp): BAASS monthly report, March 2009: staffing, the Capella warehouse of 234,364 reports, the FAA reporting request, and a Colares summary (370+ investigations, 514 victims).
- DOW-UAP-D170 (50 pp): BAASS monthly report, April 2009: MUFON field cases including the Dardanelle triangle, and the Northern Tier plan (Wolverton, Wurtsmith, Loring, Minot). See case/dardanelle-triangle-2009.
- DOW-UAP-D171 (134 pp): BAASS monthly report, June 2009: the underground vault for "exotic material or tissue", 13 MUFON cases including Fallon, the Brazil deployment, and Northern Tier as "one of the sponsor's top priorities". See case/fallon-boomerangs-2009.
- DOW-UAP-D173 (155 pp): BAASS monthly report, November 2009: Versailles, Port Jervis, the blue orb case, Utah ranch security logs, and the stall: "BAASS currently does not have the Need to Know for this information." See case/versailles-missouri-landing-2009, case/port-jervis-cigar-2009, case/blue-orb-davis-2007.
- DOW-UAP-D174 (60 pp): BAASS Utah Ranch Investigation Report, April 2010: over 25 local witnesses, all with "first hand encounters", creatures and lights; fur samples matched a dog and a raccoon (that result covers only the fur).
- DOW-UAP-D175 (141 pp): BAASS self-assessment, November 2010, quoting DIA's "Key Assessments" of the 2004 Nimitz Tic Tac: "no known aircraft or air vehicle currently in the inventory of the United States or any foreign nation".
- DOW-UAP-D176 (3 pp): AARO Memorandum for Record, 2026, on a silent, lightless, heat-uniform black triangle seen by federal agents at a national-security site. See case/federal-agents-black-triangle-2026.
- DOW-UAP-D177 (4 pp): 15 Mar 1955, Catalina Island, a bright orange-red object fell straight down for 2 s; "probably a meteor" (natural cause proposed, not demonstrated). See case/catalina-island-1949-1955.
- DOW-UAP-D178 (5 pp): 16 Nov 1953, a USAF technical sergeant saw a stationary, then moving, purplish-white saucer shape over Catalina; card says Jupiter but notes "Movement of object does not coincide with winds aloft". See case/catalina-island-1949-1955.
- DOW-UAP-D179 (2 pp): about 25 Jun 1952, three Boy Scouts on Catalina saw a silent silver object faster than a jet that disappeared "by disintegration". See case/catalina-island-1949-1955.
- DOW-UAP-D180 (298 pp): personnel file of Col. Howard M. McCoy, chief of AMC Intelligence (T-2) from 15 Oct 1947 to Aug 1949, including a classified "Science Survey Office" "abolished for unknown reasons" after he left. The file does not mention UFOs.
- DOW-UAP-D181 (3 pp): 28 Apr 1949, a letter from an Avalon resident to Kenneth Arnold reporting ten objects over Catalina, forwarded by OSI; marked "MCIAXS did not acknowledge this ltr". See case/catalina-island-1949-1955.
- EOP-UAP-D002 (1 p): 29 May 1963 Space Council memo: "DOD and AF want to use NASA for a 'cover' but have no intention of letting NASA do anything but return some pieces."
- FBI-UAP-D043 (11 pp): FBI FD-302 on the 2026 black triangle, with nine dusk photographs of the ridge and a placed triangle silhouette (the "Pentagon rendering" on TV). See case/federal-agents-black-triangle-2026.
- USG-UAP-D002 (72 pp): 1962-1964 National Aeronautics and Space Council file on space-vehicle fragments: foreign fragments "(including whole vehicles)" go to DOD first "for intelligence purposes"; NASA's line: "UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES DOES THIS AGENCY (GOVERNMENT) CONJECTURE ON THE ORIGIN OF AN OBJECT".
- The White House posted its own 19.5-second video, "NEW UFO DROP", on X at 15:11 UTC on 23 Oct 2026 (https://x.com/WhiteHouse/status/2113649451697164594). It shows a black triangle and is separate from the release, which itself has no video or audio; it looks like a promotional render.
Open questions
- The war.gov page says the triangle event ran "over two days" with a "secondary observation on the following evening" and aligns with "other reported incidents in the western United States region"; neither released document covers the second evening. Is there a third record?
- D165 and D172 are missing from the numbering. Were they withheld, or are they due in a later release?
- What became of the BAASS vault and its contents, and of the Northern Tier files BAASS was refused?
- Why was the Science Survey Office under Col. McCoy "abolished for unknown reasons" in 1949?
