Non-profit that runs federally funded research and development centres for the DoD, FAA, DHS and others, spun out of MIT Lincoln Laboratory in 1958. It sits outside FOIA and normal audits. UAP Gerb's unnamed MITRE sources say it ran two waived Navy programs, one exploiting crash-retrieved technology since 1958 and one tracking a huge submerged object near the Bahamas; Rep. Burlison has sent it a preservation letter.
